Nanowrimo
NanoWrimo Excerpt Of Novel
I look around the room and see the opening. I could run through there and save myself a lot of explaining and headaches. I start thinking it over. Is it worth it? What if they catch me? I still haven’t shown him the list. He might be able to help. The list runs through my mind at least the main parts, old man, back to Earth, dying. Why only these ones? Why not any others? Then I realize what I must do. I don’t think after that I know what I’m doing well not really but I get my thoughts together, and act. I’m on my way, I know what to do.
NanoWrimo Questions/reflection:
Q: Did you meet your nano goal successfully? Why or why not?
A: I did meet my goal. It was very hard since I had put it off some because I was family and going different places a lot. My word goal was 35,000 and I typed 9,000 words that day, the day before it was the end and then finished the rest the next day.
Q: What was the most challenging thing about your NaNoWrimo experience?
A: The last few days since I was only at 15,000 and I had to keep coming with ideas to pull the story along. I did get it done though and I'm very proud.
Q: Is this a challenge you would undertake on your own?
A: I probably would if I knew about NanoWrimo. I didn't know about it until I came to this class. I will do it though in the future.
Q: What did you enjoy most about this experience?
A: I enjoyed most just writing the names for the chapter trying to integer the writer and reading it but I didn't want to give too much away.
Q: How could you have done better?
A: I think I did my best but I guess I could have come up with a better first three chapters. Once you get past that it gets a lot more interesting the first three chapters aren't the best.
NaNoWrimo was kind of a challenge since I didn't have as much time as the rest of my classmates. I've always wanted to write a story but I never got very far. Now I have a complete novel that I can call my story! I really enjoyed doing it though because I think that books can take you places you could never have reached before. I remember the last few days and I had to type 12,000 words in 3 days to win/complete NaNoWrimo. It took long and hard but it was all worth it. I loved NaNoWrimo.
